Best Spots for Pokemon Go in Northwest Indiana.

Pokemon Go has now been released for a couple weeks in the United States. A lot of information has been discovered about this game. For example there are breeding grounds for types of rare pokemon that can be found. I have done some research and discovered some of the rare pokemon and best spots in Northwest Indiana.
A great spot to find rare pokemon is Wicker Park in Highland Indiana.

This is a very spread out park. There are only a few pokestops here, so you can't get a lot of items. However, there are tons of Bulbasaur* here. I have found +5 plus in just one visit here making it the best spot to level these up.

The best spot to get a lot of items in Northwest Indiana is The Crown Point Square.

Just take a look at all of those Pokestops there! It is insane just how many there are in that one little area. You simply cannot run out of items if you are looking for pokemon here. The downside is that I have never found anything too cool there, just a lot of common pokemon. Due to its popularity, there are a ton of lure modules set making it extremely easy to level up.

West Beach in Gary Indiana is the only place I have seen Growlithes.

There are a few pokestops and a gym here, but that is not the real prize. This is a Growlithe* breeding ground here. I recommend going here if you still need this powerful pokemon.

By far my favorite place to catch pokemon is at Centennial Park in Munster, Indiana.

I absolutely love this place to catch pokemon. This is the best place to catch Exeggutes* to get their powerful evolution. However there are about 8 Pokespots which makes it great for grinding items. It also is a home to many other rare pokemon. I have caught a few Squirtles and Pikachus here along with many others. This is my go to area because it simply has everything.

I hope you liked this article! I would appreciate it if you shared it to others on social media. Also check out this article here about how to get lots of stardust in Pokemon Go.

*******EDIT*********
At the time of writing this article all of the info above was true. However, the breeding grounds do change after a couple of weeks. This was just discovered a recently meaning that the pokemon in the breeding spots may be completely different. Although this is true, the breeding spots will always be there meaning you can catch other rare pokemon there.

  1. Nice! Wicker park is still a spawn for bulbasaur. I went there yesterday and in 3 hours I had a venusaur. (Bring a bike) centennial park is now a gastly spawn, so good for gengar! I didn't like lake George too much, if you want a lot of water Pokemon go to the navy pier in Chicago. In one day I almost got gyrados and also got electrode and magneton. Also caught rare Pokemon like hitmonchan and porygon! Definitely a great place to go. Also got dratini and dragonair there. Wicker park you need a lot of pokeballs and more because there are only two pokestops so go prepared. I'm going to centennial for the first time today but I have been to all the other recommended areas.

  2. Wicker Park is still a spawn for Bulbasaur as of 9/10. We just leveled up into Venusaur last night by driving around the parking lot for a couple of hours (combined with one other previous visit of the same). Centennial Park is hit or miss. One time we got Wartortle, Scyther, and Tentacruel there (check behind the ampitheater) and Gengar (check by the dog park) and other times it's just common stuff spawning over and over. It seems like there are more Slowpokes there than average, though!

  3. Whihala Beach/Park in Whiting is also an Electabuzz nest. He can be found usually in the parking lot for the park and spawns every 1/2 hour or so. Also have caught a Growlithe and a Jynx in Whiting right after the downtown area.

  4. Strack's parking lot in East Chicago has about 5 or 6 pokemon all the time off the center row. Drowsies, Jynx's, Zubats, Hypno's, Weepinbells and more.

  5. Lake George in Hobart is a mecca of Pokestops. Some give out 6 Pokeballs at a time. Most Pokemon are basic but I have found seaking, Psyduck, Nidoran, Magikarp, Goldeen, Dratini, and others. Nearby if you follow the main walk south along the lake and keep going till you arrive at dairyqueen you can take a break and enjoy the pokestop there. Going a few blocks south of Dairy Queen is the Hobart baseball field. Magmar spawns here all the time. If you go to Lake Station park on 51 there are about 8 pokestops. Great place to refill with pokeballs.
