How to get lots of Stardust in Pokemon Go!

For some odd reason in Pokemon Go, I seem to never have enough stardust. Stardust is a difficult to obtain currency in the game that is vital to leveling up your pokemon. In this article I am going to show you the 3 ways to get this stardust to level up your pokemon.

Way #1

The first way to get a lot of stardust is to simply catch pokemon! Every time you catch just one pokemon you are rewarded with 100 stardust. This is the most simple and basic way to get a lot of stardust and have fun with the game at the same time. I also recommend catching week pokemon with CP ratings below 100 because you get the same amount of stardust from both weak and strong pokemon.

Way #2

The second way to get a decent chunk of stardust is by hatching eggs. This rewards a random amount of stardust but on average a 5 km egg will yield about a 1000 stardust (which is not too bad). It may take a while to hatch these eggs, but if you combined this with way #1, you can really gain a tremendous amount of stardust.

Way #3

The third way to gain stardust is to take over and control the gyms in the game. Gyms are places where factions fight one another to gain control of a specific point. When you take over a gym and place one of your own pokemon in their, you get rewarded with stardust. You get rewarded 500 stardust for every 20 hours you hold the gym. However, for every gym you hold you will gain even more every 20 hours. For example if you held 4 gyms, you would get a whopping 2000 stardust every 20 hours as long as you hold it.

This method is extremely useful because once you gain a gym, you don't have to do anything to it. I have held gyms for up to five days in a row so far. If you can find a gym in a remote location go after it. These can be vital assets if other players don't go there.
